Shadyside Community Partnership's work happens through five volunteer-led committees, each focused on a different piece of what makes this neighborhood special.
We build relationships with business and property owners along Walnut Street, Ellsworth Avenue, and South Highland Avenue, working to make Shadyside's three commercial corridors the most vibrant destinations in Pittsburgh's East End.
We coordinate neighborhood cleanups, champion tree canopy and green infrastructure, and activate public art and placemaking so every block reflects the pride this community takes in where it lives.
We welcome new residents, organize recurring social events, and publish a neighborhood newsletter, creating the shared experiences that turn neighbors into community and newcomers into people who stay.
We engage proactively with development proposals, build design guidelines that signal how Shadyside wants to grow, and advocate for a long-term neighborhood plan that keeps new investment in step with the community's vision.
We identify street safety concerns, advocate for bike infrastructure and sidewalk accessibility, and champion transit access, working to make every walk, ride, or roll through Shadyside safer.
