Walnut Street Parklet

We are in the design phase of transforming two parking spaces on Walnut Street into a seasonal public gathering space with seating, planters, and public art.

501(c)(3) Designation & RCO Recognition

We are actively pursuing two formal designations that strengthen Shadyside's ability to act:

  • 501(c)(3) nonprofit status — Allows us to receive tax-deductible donations, apply for grants, and build a sustainable funding base for neighborhood programs.
  • Registered Community Organization (RCO) — A City of Pittsburgh designation that formally recognizes us as the neighborhood's representative body in zoning hearings and development decisions. As an RCO, we are a required point of contact when developers seek variances or permits in Shadyside.

Together, these designations give Shadyside Community Partnership the standing and resources to do the work the neighborhood needs.
